Alaska Backcountry Adventures Policy
Please take the time to review these policies in detail BEFORE booking your reservation and it may not be a bad idea to print a copy for you and your group to refer to while on your trip. Although we pride ourselves on what we feel are fair, friendly policies…it is your responsibility to understand them fully prior to booking your reservation.
All reservations require a 50% advanced deposit with the remaining balance due 60 days prior to the scheduled trip date. Bookings within 60 days of a trip date require full payment. All other factors being equal, flight priority is based upon the date a reservation is made; in other words, the sooner you book...the earlier your group gets out in the field. Fuel surcharge rates are determined at the time the reservation is placed.
Deposits are not refundable but may be applied towards future seasons or towards weather day activities when applicable. Most weather day activities are valued at approximately 25% of a full day of helicopter skiing or snowboarding.
Full credit will be applied for all unused ski time except in the following cases: No future credit will be given if you do not show up on a flyable day or if you decide not to fly for your own personal reasons. Due to the distance traveled from the base area and the associated fuel costs, no credit will be issued for full day trips after the third run. Our credit is Non Transferable.
Credits are held at full value for one year and then depreciate by 25% each consecutive year. The first scheduled day of your trip becomes the date used for all yearly reductions moving forward, not the end of the calendar year (i.e. use your credit within a year of your previous trip to receive full credit). Once again, these policies are the friendliest in the industry. We value our returning clientele.
If you need helicopter evacuation service for equipment failure, exhaustion or injury, you will be charged for the actual helicopter flight time at the discounted rate of $2,950 per flight hour in addition to fuel used.
Reservations cancelled prior to your trip may be transferred to a future season at fifty percent (50%) of their original value. This is a necessary policy given the fact that helicopter resources are limited, expensive and arranged well in advance. We appreciate your understanding that we must be firm on this policy. If you need to cancel your trip due to an injury or other family emergency, please let us know as far in advance as possible as full credit may be considered for rescheduling the following season with the submission of a medical report.
We reserve the right to be flexible and friendly in interpreting our policies due to the individual circumstances involved.
Thank you for taking the time to carefully review our policies and for your understanding in their enforcement. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by either email or by phone at 907-835-5608 or 208-304-3908 .
